About Basel

I was born in Cairo, moved to the United States toward the end of middle school, and graduated from Rutgers University in 2026 with a B.A. in Psychology. I coach young adults who are building a life between two cultures, because that's how I've built mine.

My journey

  1. Cairo

    Growing up surrounded by history

My early childhood was spent visiting Egypt's monuments and learning its long history. It gave me a deep respect for where people come from, and I bring that respect into every session.

  2. Age 5

    On the swim team

I joined a swim team at five. Years of training taught me that progress comes from small, consistent steps, and that is how I help clients work toward their goals.

  3. Middle school

    A new country

I moved to the United States toward the end of middle school: a new school and a new culture, with the same family expectations at home. I learned firsthand what it means to live between two cultures.

  4. College

    Track, Taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu

In college I was on the track team and trained in Taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu. Sport taught me discipline and resilience, and showed me how much a good coach can change what you believe you can do.

  5. 2026

    Rutgers graduate

I graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Psychology, which grounds my coaching in how people think, feel and change.

Why I coach

Many young people I grew up with were quietly negotiating between two worlds: what their parents hoped for, and what they wanted for themselves. Most of them never had someone to talk it through with who understood both sides.

That's the gap I want to fill. I don't tell you which world to choose. I help you get clear on what matters to you, make decisions you can stand behind, and have the conversations you've been avoiding.

How I work

Practical

Each session ends with a next step you choose.

Respectful

Your values, faith and family are welcome in the conversation. You decide how much.

Honest about limits

If you need a licensed therapist, I'll tell you and help you find one.
